Edmunds Chef Patron Andy Waters has been recognised as a 'local talent' in the Birmingham listing of the New York Times' top places to go in 2012

Birmingham which features at No.19 on the list of 45 destinations, has been chosen soley due to its thriving culinary scene.

The hype about Birmingham being the UK's first city in food began when Olive, the BBC's food magazine, declared Birmingham Britain's "foodiest town", ahead of London and Edinburgh last October. The award coincided with the 10 day Birmingham Food Fest which proved to be a huge success for the city's restaurants.

Other top Birmingham chefs mentioned in the listing included Glynn Purnell, Aktar Islam from Lasan, and Andreas Antona, Luke Tipping and Adam Bennett from Simpsons.
